BUTOKUKAN - Thirty-Seven years young - Began training in 1993

When I started karate in first grade I was a very wild child.  My parents brought me to the dojo to learn self discipline and self control.  It took many years of hard work to develop those skills and many more that define who I am today. My dojo and karate feel like home and I’m my best self when training. I am so grateful for the support of my parents, Harry and Lisa, my sister, Jen and my wife, Jesse and daughter Mackenzie for their continuing support.  

Uechi Ryu has also led me to my career as a public school Teacher.  I first developed my teaching as a member of the STORM team teaching classes and helping out with events. I now work helling those who struggle with math and reading.  I am proud to have also completed my Masters of Arts in Math Teacher Leadership from Mount Holyoke College.  I am excited to be starting a new after school program this year as well.
