Filming & Etiquette Requirements

The following requirements will be strictly enforced for video submission. Participants are expected to show the same etiquette as would be expected at a live tournament or in the dojo. Failure to follow any of the listed requirements will result in disqualification from the event. It is up to the participant or parent/guardian to review videos prior to submission. Requirements includes:

  • Participants should announce their names, dojo, and what they are presenting at the beginning of the video

  • The participant’s entire body should always be on camera

  • The camera should remain as stationary as possible – the camera may not move around the participant during their presentation

  • No background music is permitted except for Freestyle Kata and Freestyle Kumite

  • With the exception of trimming the beginning and the ending of the video submission, no editing of the video submission is permitted

  • No coaching is permitted

  • A clean, white uniform is required for all division except for Freestyle Kata and Freestyle Kumite

  • Participants must use appropriate language: No swearing or funny voices
