Neil Stone's Karate Academy - Thirty years young - Began training in 1998
Rokudan Candidate of 2024
I began my Uechi-Ryu training under Sensei Neil Stone at the age of four in 1998. Since that time I continuously trained and Uechi-Ryu has been a major part of my entire life. I find that the training has been absolutely invaluable and I am incredibly grateful for all that karate has given me over the last twenty-six years. In fact, I do not really remember a time without Uechi-Ryu karate.
During my childhood, in addition to martial arts training, I played ice hockey and spent many years performing in both musical and dramatic productions. As a young adult, I attended the University of Massachusetts Boston where I graduated summa cum laude with a Bachelor's Degree in Political Science in 2016. From 2016 to 2020, I was an instructor at Mr. Stone's school where I taught in both the children and adult karate programs. During that time, I pursued my law degree at New England Law - Boston.
After graduating law school in 2020, I began my legal career clerking for Justice Amy Lyn Blake of the Massachusetts Appeals Court and later Justice David A. Lowy of the Massachusetts Supreme Judicial Court. Since 2023, I have been in private in Worcester, Massachusetts focusing primarily on business litigation. In my spare time, I enjoys focusing on my martial arts training, going to the gym, watching a good movie, and most importantly playing with my golden retriever Bill.
I attribute much of my personal and professional success to the lessons that Mr. Stone has taught me over the years. My martial arts training has helped me focus on achieving the goals that I set for myself and provides me with a healthy outlet in times of stress or strife. As I approach this incredible milestone, I would like to thank my parents for thinking of enrolling me in karate so many years ago and for always believing in me. I would like to thank my siblings for the times that they have spent training with me and for their endless support. Most importantly, I would like to thank Mr. Stone for not only giving me this opportunity but for the many years of wisdom and guidance that he has provided and continues to provide.
